Gutter Repair

Gutter Repair Services in North Texas

All Around Texas Roofing repairs gutters across Frisco, McKinney, Prosper, Celina, Anna, Melissa, Aubrey and the surrounding Collin and Denton County communities. Sagging runs, split seams, sections pulling away from the fascia, dented and blocked downspouts, and the rotten fascia board that is usually the real reason the gutter came loose.

Your gutters are also the most honest thing on the property after a storm. Aluminum is thin and soft, so hail dents it and the dent stays. Shingles can absorb the same impact and still look untouched from the ground.

Call (469) 598-0899 and we will start at the gutter line, with you standing there.

What Actually Goes Wrong

The Run Sags in the Middle

Gutter hangs on hangers fixed into the fascia, and it is carrying water, which is heavy. When hangers are too widely spaced, or the wood behind them has softened, the run drops between fixings. Water then pools instead of running, which adds weight, which drops it further. A sagging run is almost never a gutter problem.

The Seams Split

Sectional gutter is joined, and joints move with temperature. North Texas puts aluminum through a substantial annual range and a sealed joint eventually fatigues. You see it as a drip line on the ground under the joint, or a stain down the fascia. Seamless gutter has fewer joints, but it still has them at corners, outlets and end caps, which is exactly where it fails.

It Pulls Away From the House

The most common call we get. Nine times out of ten the gutter is fine and the wood behind it is not.

The Downspout Stops Working

Blocked with granules and debris, crushed by a limb, dented shut by hail, or disconnected at an elbow. The tell is water sheeting over the gutter edge during rain while the downspout stays dry.

The Pitch Is Wrong

A gutter has to fall toward its outlet, consistently. Get it wrong and water stands in the run, holds weight, corrodes the seams from the inside and overflows at the low point. Standing water in a gutter that is not blocked is a pitch problem.

Insurance Claim Assistance for Gutter Damage

Two things worth knowing before an adjuster is standing in your driveway.

First, gutter damage belongs on the same claim as the roof, because it came from the same storm. Same event, same deductible.

Second, gutters are the component most likely to be argued about. Some property policies treat damage that is purely cosmetic differently from damage that affects function, and where that applies it is commonly applied to metal components. Whether your policy contains anything of that kind is in your policy document, and it is a fair question for your agent before a storm rather than after one.

What we do is document function as well as appearance: where the profile has been deformed enough to hold water, where a downspout has been closed up, where a hanger has been driven out of the fascia. Function is the part hardest to wave off. See insurance claim assistance.

Our Gutter Repair Process

01

Start at the gutter line

because soft metal records impact size and direction at eye level.

02

Check the wood behind the gutter

before quoting anything.

03

Test the fall and the outlets

to separate a pitch problem from a blockage.

04

Quote the repair with a fascia rate

so rot found on removal is priced in advance.

05

Repair or replace

including hangers, seams, pitch, downspouts and guards.

06

Get the water away from the house

with extensions where the discharge is too close.

The Fascia Underneath Is the Real Job

Here is the sequence that turns a minor gutter fault into carpentry.

A joint splits, or a blockage causes an overflow. Water runs down the back of the gutter instead of through it, straight onto the fascia board it hangs from. Fascia is usually wood, painted on the face you can see and often unsealed on the back you cannot. It stays wet.

Wet wood rots, invisibly, because it is behind a gutter nobody has moved in a decade. The hangers lose their grip, the gutter sags, the overflow worsens, the rot accelerates. Eventually a section detaches and only then does anyone look.

By that point the job is fascia replacement, sometimes rafter tail repair, then new gutter. Which is why we look behind the gutter first. Rehanging a gutter on rotten fascia is a repair with an expiry date, and we will not price it as though it were a fix. See soffit and fascia repair.

Repair, Replace, or Resize

Repair when the damage is localized and the metal is sound: resealing seams, replacing hangers, correcting pitch, reconnecting a downspout, straightening a dented section.

Replace when denting is widespread enough that the profile no longer drains, when the material has corroded through, or when the repair list costs more than replacement. New seamless gutter is its own service: see gutter installation .

Resize when the system is simply too small for the roof it drains. Larger roofs and steeper pitches shed water faster than a small gutter and a single downspout can carry. If your gutters overflow in every serious storm and there is no blockage, the answer may be capacity rather than repair.

On the expansive clay soils common across much of Collin and Denton County, where the water ends up matters as much as whether it leaves the roof. Downspouts should discharge far enough out that the water is genuinely leaving the area next to the foundation.

Why North Texas Homeowners Choose All Around Texas Roofing

We check the fascia before quoting, so you are not paying twice for the same section.

We quote a fascia replacement rate for rot found on removal.

We document function, not just dents, which is what survives a claim review.

We fit downspout extensions as part of the work, not as an upsell.

We will tell you when it is a capacity problem rather than selling you more sealant.

One contractor for the whole exterior, so roof, gutter and drip edge meet properly at the eave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, and gutters show it more honestly than almost anything else on the house. Aluminum is thin and soft, so impacts leave dents that stay. That is why a storm inspection should start at the gutter line: soft metal records impact size and direction at eye level, where a shingle can hide the same impact.

Usually because the fascia board behind it has softened. Water running down the back of a gutter, from a split seam or an overflow, keeps the wood wet, the wood rots, and the hangers lose their grip. The gutter is the symptom. We check the wood before quoting.

Gutter damage from a covered storm is commonly part of a property claim. Some policies treat purely cosmetic damage differently from damage affecting function, and where such terms exist they are often applied to metal components. Whether yours contains anything like that is in your policy document and worth asking your agent. We document function as well as appearance for exactly this reason.

Repair when the damage is localized and the metal is sound. Replace when denting is widespread enough to stop the run draining, when the material has corroded through, or when the repair list has grown past the cost of replacement.

They reduce the debris reaching the gutter and they do not eliminate maintenance. They vary enormously by type, and a guard that clogs is worse than no guard, because now the blockage is under a lid.

Two usual causes. The pitch is wrong, so water stands rather than running to the outlet, or the system is too small for the roof area and pitch it drains. Neither is fixed by resealing, and both are identifiable in ten minutes on site.

Far enough that the water is genuinely leaving the area next to the foundation, with the ground falling away from the wall. On the expansive clays common here, keeping roof water away from the base of the house matters more than in places with more stable soil.

Yes, and the order matters: roof first, then gutters, because gutters come off and go back on around roofing work and the drip edge detail at the eave is where the two trades meet.

Yes. Installation of new seamless gutter is its own service. If you need a full system rather than a repair, say so when you call and we will scope it that way.
