When a storm opens a roof or takes out a window, the damage stops being about the roof and starts being about everything underneath it.
All Around Texas Roofing installs emergency tarping and board up across Frisco, McKinney, Prosper, Celina, Anna, Melissa, Aubrey and the surrounding Collin and Denton County communities. We document the emergency work separately for your insurance claim, then schedule the permanent repair.

Most Texas homeowner policies contain a condition requiring you to protect the property from further damage after a loss. Read yours, because wording and limits differ, but the principle is common and it cuts both ways. Reasonable emergency measures are usually recoverable. Damage that happened because nothing was done, when something reasonably could have been, is the part a carrier is most likely to argue about.
In practice, emergency mitigation is normally scoped as its own line rather than folded into the roof replacement. That is why we document it separately: dated photographs of the damage before the tarp goes on, photographs of the installed tarp, the materials and labor used, and the time of the call.
We do not promise your carrier will pay. Coverage is between you, your policy and your agent, and any contractor guaranteeing reimbursement is guessing with your money. What we control is that the work is documented well enough to be paid. See insurance claim assistance.
We need the address, what you can see from the ground, whether water is actively entering, and whether anyone is in the house.
An open roof over an occupied bedroom goes ahead of a detached garage. After a widespread event we will give you a realistic window rather than a comfortable one.
Photographs before the tarp goes on, the install, then photographs after.
Not just the visible breach, because storm damage is rarely confined to the part you can see from the driveway.
covering the roof and every other component the storm touched.
against material availability.
Once it is safe to move around indoors, these are worth doing and they cost nothing.
Move what you can out of the affected rooms. Put containers under active drips. Pull furniture off wet carpet. Switch off power to any circuit where water is near a fixture or an outlet. And photograph everything as you go, including the ceiling, the floor and anything damaged, because those images are worth real money to your claim later.
Do not climb anything.
Every storm season this gets somebody badly hurt, and the circumstances are always the same.
A storm damaged roof is not a sound roof. Decking that has taken water is soft in places you cannot identify by looking. The surface is wet, usually covered in loose granules that behave like ball bearings, and often littered with debris. The weather that caused the damage is frequently still moving through. You are carrying a large sheet of material that behaves like a sail. And the whole thing is being attempted in a hurry, in poor light, by somebody who is upset.
Photograph it from the ground, protect what is inside, and call somebody with fall protection and a ladder rated for it.
We give you a real window on the phone, not a comfortable one, especially after a widespread storm.
Tarps are fastened where the permanent repair will cover the fixings, which is the difference between a roofer and somebody improvising.
The emergency work is documented as its own claim line, with photographs before and after.
We tell you when it can wait. Not every storm needs a tarp, and we will say so.
One contractor through to the permanent repair, so nobody re diagnoses your roof from scratch.
We do not knock doors after storms.
We provide emergency tarping and board up across:
Our office is on Preston Road in Frisco, which keeps most of those drives short.
After a widespread event, every roofing company in two counties is working the same list. We will be honest with you about where you sit in it.
Once the emergency is covered, the next step is a free roof inspection and then storm damage repair or roof replacement, depending on what the inspection finds.
4.9★ Rating from 1,235+ Texas Roofing Customers It depends where you are and what else is happening. A single house with an open roof is a different call from the two hours after a hailstorm has crossed four cities. Tell us the address and what you can see and we will give you a real window. We would rather be honest on the phone than late to your house.
Usually it is recoverable as part of the claim, and normally scoped as its own line item rather than buried in the roof price. Whether your policy pays is a question for your policy and your agent. What we guarantee is that the work is documented properly enough to be considered.
A properly installed tarp is built to hold through subsequent rain and ordinary wind for a matter of weeks while the claim runs and the permanent repair is scheduled. It is not a roof, the material degrades in sun, and every fastener holding it is a penetration. Treat it as temporary.
A tarp is fastened, so yes, there are fixings in the roof. They are placed where the permanent repair will cover or replace that material, which is one of the differences between a roofer installing a tarp and somebody improvising. Against a roof open to the weather, it is not a close call.
Not while lightning is active or while winds are strong enough to make handling material dangerous. We will tell you that rather than send a crew into it. In the meantime, protecting the inside of the house is where the value is.
Yes. Broken windows, damaged doors and any other opening, boarded to sound structure. Same mitigation logic, usually documented on the same claim.
Usually a second breach nobody has found yet, or water that got into the structure earlier and is still working its way out. Both need looking at and neither gets better on its own. Call us back.
The inspection is free. Emergency tarping and board up are physical work with materials and after hours labor, so they are chargeable, and normally recoverable through the claim. We tell you the cost before we start.
If the roof is open, a window is gone, or water is coming in, the first hour is worth more than the next week.
